6th Grade

Prince of Peace Lutheran School is a school of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS). In keeping with the purpose and philosophy of our school, all subjects are taught in the light of God's Word. Every child takes part in daily devotions, chapel services, evangelism, and other religious projects. Prince of Peace Lutheran School offers those subjects commonly taught at the kindergarten, elementary, and middle school levels with the addition of a religion curriculum prepared for LCMS elementary schools.

Children learn from repetition. Repeating the same message of Jesus' love for us each and every day (not just on Sunday) is very important in a child's life. Students of Prince of Peace read Bible stories and learn their lessons, participate every Wednesday morning in a Chapel service, and are encouraged to pray and talk about Jesus!

We will try to accommodate all students interested in attending Prince of Peace Lutheran School and each school year we will re-evaluate our situation to best meet everyone's needs; however, our underlying goal is to not exceed a maximum of 20 students per class.

CLASSROOM CORNER Ð Sixth Grade

Autumn greetings from our thirteen sensational sixth graders! We had the opportunity last week to be the first class to lead a complete chapel service this year. Our school theme this year is "Be Strong in the Lord" with a special focus on the Armor of God. We presented the "Belt of Truth" through songs, Scripture, a skit, and the wearing of our "belts of truth." The chapel project that we are sponsoring is the Caritas Food Shelf in St. Cloud. Each week we will be collecting food and money that will be given to the people in need in our local area. We have also been hard at work in all of our classes. In Religion, we have just started a unit on the life and teachings of Jesus. In Literature, we completed a special "Family Tree" project in unit 1 and are continuing reading various selections with the theme of challenge in unit 2. In Math, we are working on the addition and subtraction of decimals. Social Studies has taken us to ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia, but we are now back in the U.S. to study the election process in conjunction with a school-wide "mock election" that we will hold on November 4. In Science, we are studying variables by doing many hands-on investigations.

We are truly blessed to be at Prince of Peace where we can learn and grow together in and through God's Word every day!
