The preschoolers enjoy three bussed field trips and two activity nights each year. The three bussed trips are a fall trip to a pumpkin patch, a winter trip to a children's play and a spring trip to a farm. For many preschoolers this is their first school bus ride. Parents are encouraged to chaperone and share the field experiences with their preschooler.
Two activity nights also are greatly enjoyed by parent and child. In March a Dad's Night is held. This is a special night set aside for dad and preschooler where they enjoy a themed night in the Prince of Peace School gym. The other activity night is a Mother's Tea held in May. This is a wonderful time for mom and preschooler to spend time together participating in several art activities and sharing a meal with the other preschool moms and children.
Other events are held throughout the year including a pumpkin party, a Christmas program, Christmas parties, Valentine parties, Easter celebrations and graduation ceremonies. Other events are held that are specific to the campus are grandparent days, Faithful Friends, sharing your occupation or hobby with the preschoolers and volunteering in the classroom.
There are two parent/teacher conferences held each year where parents and teacher set goals for the child to help their cognitive, social, emotional, intellectual or spiritual growth. Parents are always welcome in the classroom and parent and teachers keep in close communication.
A written permission form will be sent home with each child for each field trip. It will state the destination, date, and purpose of the field trip. The form is to be signed and returned the next school day. Parental permission is required for a child to be taken from the preschool center. This helps parents know where their children are at all times.
A first aid kit, first aid manual, and the children's emergency cards are taken on all field trips.
